Community is the future of business.
It’s the vision we’ve always had at CMX, and it’s quickly becoming a reality.
The business world is shifting. As a result of new communication technology and changing consumer expectations, community has become a vital piece of building a successful company. If you don’t build one, your business will hit a wall. It’s time to start paying attention.
More companies are hiring community professionals than ever before. More companies are finding ways to measure the ROI of community. More companies are growing frustrated with traditional marketing. More companies are learning that they cannot build in a vaccuum. They must involve their customers.
It cannot be ignored. The community industry has arrived.
With that, today we’re thrilled to announce…

Growing up, Tim created overlap in Venn Diagrams of various social circles – the smart kids and jocks, stoners and straight-edged, cool kids and band nerds.

This year, I’ll be giving the opening keynote. I’m incredibly lucky to spend every day of my life learning how different organizations invest in community and the results of their efforts. Everyone on the CMX team has developed a deep understanding of the community space and where it’s going. I’m really eager to share those insights with you at CMX Summit.
I’ll also be teaching the CMX Community Strategy workshop the day before the summit. This is our premier training product, which has been attended by some of the world’s largest companies and fastest growing startups around the world. This may be one of the last times it’s offered to the public as an in-person course, so don’t miss out.
Few people have as much experience in the community space as Erica Kuhl, Sr. Director of Community at Salesforce. Never before has she shared all of her experience and incredible drive, passion, and intellect with our community in tactical, strategic ways. We convinced her to teach a five-hour workshop where she’ll share the frameworks she has used to build a community with millions of users at Salesforce, who help them develop their product. This is one you don’t want to miss.
Back by popular demand, Lauren is an experienced, enthusiastic, and business-minded community instructor and consultant who has taught for General Assembly for several years, and is one of the world’s leading experts on community-driven marketing. She taught a workshop at the CMX Summit in NYC, and her students gave us such positive feedback that we had to invite her back. For anyone who needs a strategy for building a community that will contribute to your marketing goals, this is the workshop for you.
Let’s do this!
Get ready for an event that you will never forget. You’ll go home with an entirely new view on how to build your business, specific tactics for executing on that vision, and with lifelong friends who will support you along the way.
