4. Community Manager and Language Specialist, Duolingo

Duolingo is the world’s largest online language education platform. Duolingo has over 50 million members, is completely science- and data-based, and makes learning a language feel like a game. In this position, your responsibilities would include mentoring teams of bilingual volunteers building languages courses through the Duolingo Language Incubator (incubator.duolingo.com), managing Spanish- and English-speaking communities in the Duolingo forum, providing support to Duolingo members (website, mobile apps, Incubator and Test Center, and creating content for the Duolingo forum. 5 & 6. Associate Community Manager & Labs Associate Community Manager, WeWork

WeWork is the platform for creators. They provide the space, community, and services their members need to create their life’s work. WeWork’s mission is to create a world where people work to make a life, not just a living.

WeWork is looking for a talented and passionate Associate Community Manager. This full-time position is based at WeWork Berkeley and will report directly to the Berkeley Community Manager. Duties include working on community initiatives designed to develop connections between members. These initiatives include in-­person interaction, event creation, creating electronic and print communications, generating leads, and conducting tours for new members. You’ll execute on sales strategy and work towards/maintain 100% building occupancy, as well as provide weekly and monthly reports that outline progress of your building and community.

The Labs Associate position is also full-time and works out of the SoMa, San Francisco location. Duties include the aforementioned in addition to providing weekly and monthly reports, developing custom programming for your community of startups based on their needs (including lunch-and-learns, mini-demos, launch parties, happy hours, seminars and workshops), developing relationships with reporters, investors, brands, agencies, and mentors, and connecting this network with your members as needed. You’ll also be involved in planning and executing a quarterly Demo Day for your companies to showcase to the rest of WeWork Labs and the outside community what they are working on. The ideal Labs Associate CM will possess an understanding of the startup process from funding to building a team, etc.

7. NYC Community Manager, Dev Bootcamp

Dev Bootcamp is seeking a dynamic and experienced community builder to lead DBC::NYC’s efforts to establish itself as the preferred Web Developer Bootcamp to the NYC Tech Community and to prospective students.

Your primary responsibilities will include building strong relationships with the NY tech community including tech companies, investors, educational institutions, co-working spaces, journalists and thought-leaders, supporting students, staff and alumni to engage with the NY tech community, and helping to build and administrate a new DBC::NYC alumni program.

The Buffer Happiness Team works very closely together to delight customers as often and creatively as possible over email, Twitter, and live chat. Measuring customer happiness can be tricky, but they believe that a really fast and personal reply inherently makes people happy. 10. Community Manager, 37Angels

37Angels is at an interesting juncture with lots of avenues for potential growth. So ideas are welcome and this role should and will shift for the right person. That being said, they are looking for a CM who can execute the following: connect internal stakeholders, think of ways to strengthen ties internally and share ideas. Externally, you should be able to manage social media channels and a weekly newsletter as well as create content to market to the wider network. You’ll also work to streamline processes. They want to be able to help their portfolio companies efficiently. Initially this role will be just 5-10 hours a week. That could easily grow over time. Ideally, this person is familiar with the NY startup ecosystem.

The community and social media manager will be responsible for social media reach and community engagement metrics. The ideal candidate is highly social, incredibly organized, and capable of building and maintaining relationships with RelayRides owners and renters. The candidate will empower community members to become brand evangelists for RelayRides and will connect members with relevant PR and social media opportunities. The candidate should be a professional communicator with a strong foundation of project management skills. They should also be a gifted teacher who is able to present information and educational materials to various groups of community members in any setting.
