Community Engagement Manager

PMI is looking for a globally sensitive Community Manager who is enthusiastic about supporting a membership association with half a million stakeholders working in nearly every country around the world.
What this role does-
•Drive the development and maintenance of long-term relationships with contributors, develop relationships within PMI that further the concepts of community and collaboration, and explore different possibilities to create commitment from external stakeholders, from ideation to implementation.
•Ensure effective reporting, analytics, dashboard maintenance, identification of SMEs/champions based on established criteria, volunteer recognition, production of content, and development of content plan and calendar.
•Actively champion the community through ongoing interactions and communications, demonstrating engagement in the community and the ability to drive relevant activities based on user feedback and data.
• Provide stakeholder support, reporting on key initiatives, and planning support for the overall engagement strategy for the organization, and will share responsibility for areas described in the position description. Specialized duties or teams will be allocated to individual Specialist positions as appropriate.
•Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, marketing communications, English, or other related discipline. Advanced degree preferred.
•2-4 or more years of experience in a communications, familiarity with recognizing current trends in community or content development role. Not-for-profit organization and global expertise desired.
•Extensive knowledge of communications and brand messaging. Able to think critically and strategically about communications programs and apply creative solutions appropriately.
•Strong verbal and written communications skills with the ability to develop and present business cases, including public speaking and negotiating.
•Strong relationship management skills, including demonstrated ability to work with all levels of staff, global customers and partners, volunteers, and external organizations with a track record of positive long term outcome-based relationships.
•Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive organization topics and issues.
•Ability to use Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as other associated desktop publishing software or similar software expertise, with ability to work remotely using laptop in a dynamic environment while traveling.
•Knowledge, experience and ability to periodically travel, domestically and internationally, including weekends and holidays. Additionally must be able to support collaborative efforts outside of working hours. Must be able to travel.
