Why is a Manager of Digital Community Management important to us? As a manager, you help guide and influence our passionate, fun and talented community. This will be done by inspiring and enabling a passionate team of Digital Community Managers to implement revenue generating marketing campaigns and activities. A Manager of Digital Community Management you influence the heartbeat of our community; that’s why you are important to us.
As a Manager, you will be responsible for:

Creating, sustaining and executing on a community management philosophy that drives relationships and business
Managing a growing team of Community Managers at Shapeways
Enabling and, when necessary, managing the continuum between offline and online community relationships on behalf of different lines of business
Developing and writing blog posts, articles, newsletters, communication materials, as well as create community-focused content for social media channels
Attending industry events in your city (often outside of 9-5 hours) and plan in-person events and meetups for your community
Monitoring and measuring the success of community engagement (i.e. number of power users / ambassadors, number of discussions, etc.), and provide reports for Community Team Lead / Marketing Manager / Leadership
Identifying and reporting on community trends to internal teams and advise on potential opportunities or risks
Managing the responsibility to identify trends and opportunities for community brands to grow their audience track
Shared Responsibilities:

Public relations – Work closely with PR-manager in identifying PR opportunities specific for a Line of BusinessCustomer relations – Together with the Customer Service Team, the Manager is co-responsible for customer support – answering questions however they come in (phone, e-mail, Twitter) and managing any online feedback forums
Communications / Education strategy – Together with the Communication Manager, develop and implement community promotion, engagement strategies, and tactics as they relate to the communications division and the organization’s strategic goals and to ensure successful coordinated campaigns for communication and education.
Social media – Work with Social Media Manager, Membership, Marketing, and other divisions to coordinate community postings as appropriate across the organization’s digital channels. Co-responsible with the Social media manager in defining social media tactics relevant to the Lines of Business.
Business Development – For this role, the Manager will also need to support business development and sales on behalf of Lines of Business.

You will be a good fit if you…

Have at least 5 years experience in Community Management
Acquired at least 3 years experience managing a team of Community Managers while being an active contributor to the execution of community management tasks and activities
Lead by doing; walking into networking events and being comfortable introducing yourself to strangers and connecting with community members
Possess great time management skills and an ability to multitask
Can put yourself in the shoes of your community members to be able to effectively converse with the audience
See the brand from the perspective of a fan or consumer, and use this point of view to guide your engagements with the community
Feel writing is second nature to you. A background in journalism or experience with writing helps since you’ll be creating so much content for the company
Are empathetic, creative and can think out of the box
You understand that Community Management isn’t a 9-5 job. You will be expected to respond to community members outside of work hours if, and when necessary
Consider yourself a hands-on do-er
Have passion for creation and an interest in 3D printing. And, of course, you connect with the brand and industry of Shapeways, Better yet – have had experience 3D modeling and printing
Have knowledge and experience with Video shooting and editing experience
