CMX Virtual Summit

An Update on CMX Summit and Events in 2020.

To say the world has changed in the last few weeks, is an understatement.

Like all of you, the team at CMX and Bevy have been working on our plans, building contingencies, and supporting all our community members and customers with their shifting strategies.

CMX Summit 2020 is scheduled for October 6-7, but we can’t predict the future. With things changing so quickly, we don’t know what the global climate will be next week, let alone a few months from now. We are grateful we have this time to plan and work with all of you in our community.

We’re deeply empathetic to those of you who had to cancel your events and are dealing with the aftermath. We put together a comprehensive guide to pivoting your event strategy last week, to help teams navigate the cancellation or rescheduling of their events, and pivot to a virtual strategy until things settle down.

If there’s anything the CMX team can do to help you, to point you in the right direction, or to just be in your corner, email us at [email protected]. The CMX team and the CMX community is here for you. There are multiple threads going on in the CMX Slack Workspace and the CMX Hub Facebook group where you can find support, and hear what other teams are doing in these uncertain times. .

Now that brings us to what are we doing at CMX to pivot our event strategy for this year? What’s going to happen with CMX Summit? What’s happening with CMX Connect local events?

CMX Summit 2020 – The Show Will Go On!

The current plan is to host CMX Summit 2020 as an in-person conference, on its scheduled date.

That said, given the uncertainty of the next year, we are simultaneously planning a virtual version of CMX Summit. We will make the decision on in-person vs virtual closer to the date, keeping health and safety top of mind, and ensuring that we can maintain the highest quality event experience possible.

If you buy a ticket to CMX Summit 2020, and we end up switching to a virtual event, you will get:

  • Full access to the virtual CMX Summit 2020 event, which will have all the same talks, new networking opportunities, vendor demos, and more!
  • A free ticket to CMX Summit 2021

We want to make sure you get your money’s worth and then some.

We hope to not have to change the event, because CMX Summit is so well-loved by our community as a chance to come together in real life. But if we must change, you can bet your bottom dollar we’re going to throw a virtual CMX Summit you’ll never forget!

What’s Happening with CMX Connect?

Our local CMX Connect events have been happening in 50+ chapters around the world, with events being hosted every month.

Many of our chapters, including San Francisco USA, Research Triangle Park USA, and Madrid Spain, are moving online and will be hosting virtual events and webinars. You can find our virtual events here. If you find one that works for your time zone, please join us! These virtual events are open to everyone.

What to expect in the coming months…

We will be regularly updating the CMX community through the CMX Weekly newsletter, the CMX blog, and through direct emails to all CMX Summit and Connect attendees, about what’s happening with all of our events. You’ll know what we know when we know it.

These are difficult times and we truly believe it’s during struggles like this that the strongest communities form: when it’s not easy, when we have to change our plans, to support each other, and to stay connected despite the odds.

Thank you for all your support and your patience. The CMX community will no doubt come out of this stronger than ever before.
