This time, we are revealing the fourth phase of our speaker lineup for CMX Summit 2023: Shine, and it's stacked with some of the brightest minds in our industry.

Kyle Hagge is currently the Director of Community at Morning Brew, working on the Education team & building products designed to accelerate the careers of ambitious professionals. Previously he worked at Marquette University, the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee, Ballot Ready, and College Possible (AmeriCorps).

Carolyn Zick, Founder of Bad Axe Enterprises

Carolyn Zick, founder of Bad Axe Enterprises and co-founder of AMIDST Creatives, is a multi-passionate marketing and community-building nerd. Her focus is helping brands develop organic, relationship-driven strategies that help them connect with their clients in a meaningful way. Carolyn is also a textile artist who lives on a hobby farm in the woods in the middle of nowhere with her family.

Vi Andrews, Community Lead at Ideas United

Originally from Miami, Vi Andrews is a natural "connector," currently strategically cultivating community within the film, entertainment, and media industry. 

They are an experienced multidisciplinary product marketing manager and strategist with a passion for inspiring positive social impact by connecting target audiences to worthy causes through entertainment and technology. Community building has been a part of Vi's story for well over a decade, initially in the political arena, where they worked in electoral community organizing for several presidential and Florida Gubernatorial campaigns. Vi is currently the Community Lead for Ideas United, where they connect creators from around the world to creative work opportunities and ways to help tell their stories. Vi now calls Atlanta and Mexico City home in addition to MIA.

Katelyn Gillum, Director of Community at Crisis Text Line

Katelyn Gillum is an experienced community leader and educator who has worked to build global communities at scale across a variety of B2B and B2C industries. She's built global community programs at companies like Crisis Text Line, Commsor, Toptal, Meetup, and more.

When she's not working with her team to foster meaningful relationships in the communities she serves, you can find Katelyn exploring a new city with her wife Annie on foot (and with a coffee in hand).

Martha Patzer, Community & Marketing Consultant at Hired Puns LLC

CMX Summit 2023 Shine Hired Puns LLC Martha Patz

Martha Patzer is a strategist and consultant who works with startups and founders in New York, the Bay Area, and Columbus, Ohio. Most recently, she founded and ran the AI-focused B2C community at Neeva, a Sequoia- and Greylock-portfolio search startup.

Prior to Neeva, Martha served as Chief of Staff to the Chief Product Officer at Exasol AG in Nuremberg and Principal Consultant at 270 Strategies in Chicago. She led the OFA team that raised a record-breaking $690M online in 2012 and was named Fundraiser of the Year by the American Association of Political Consultants. Martha has been a panelist, trainer, and keynote speaker for over a decade; recent events include Dashlane's Charting the Course of Cybersecurity in 2023, MBO's Digital Marketing Conference, and as a faculty member for the CASE Institute for Senior Communications & Marketing Professionals.

She lives in the Clintonville neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio, with her husband and two kiddos.

Molli Aronce, Senior Community Manager at Cruise

Molli Arronce CMX Summit 2023: Shine

Molli has been bridging communities in tech for over a decade for brands, including Electronic Arts, Meta, and Cruise. As a Community Developer, Molli collaboratively creates the bridge and provides the journey to the immersive village along the way. She’s the llama unicorn who brings the sparkle to your banana-shaped ears.

Ruth Diaz, Core Vision Owner (CVO) at Liminal XR

Ruth Diaz is a social scientist, environmental designer, and innovator on conflict resiliency in VR culture. She is the co-founder of Liminal XR, which includes a growing network of VR enthusiasts and community builders who connect diverse contributors to create transformative and inclusive experiences. In multiple VR applications, Ruth is an environmental storyteller, has built hundreds of immersive “worlds,”  and is passionate about all technology mediums that help us become better versions of ourselves as humans, individually and collectively.

Ed Giansante, Head of Community at Persona

CMX Summit 2023 Shine Persona

Edu Giansante is the Head of the Community at Persona. Previously the Global Head of Community at Dropbox, Wix, Zynga, VMware, and founder of Edublin.

Born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Edu moved to Ireland in 2008, where he started his expat community Edublin. His ability to share useful information in video storytelling has brought him over 400K YouTube subscribers and over 50 million views. 

While creating on Edublin, Edu also joined Zynga and led its community as a Global Community manager. His work to scale communities resulted in millions of USD in savings, and he was awarded the most efficient employee of the Year in 2013. 

He later joined Dropbox, in 2014, with a challenge to start Dropbox's community strategy from scratch. Within months Edu launched the Dropbox Super User program, which helped streamline product feedback and scaled support. In 2020 Edu was elected the Online Community Professional of the Year 2020 by CMX.

In 2021 Edu joined Wix to help shape its community's long-term strategy and scale to millions of Wix users. Edu also joined several non-profit mentorship programs to help people in their careers, as well as became an Angel Investor in multiple startups.

Edu is now based in San Francisco, leading the community for the startup Persona.

Sam Hepburn, Global Community Manager at Snyk

Sam Hepburn is a prominent figure in London's developer community, having dedicated the past decade to building some of the largest tech communities in the world. Her passion lies in fostering welcoming environments where individuals thrive and communities flourish.

Currently, Sam serves as the community lead at Snyk.io, spearheading efforts to integrate security into developers' workflows. She also heads the DevSecCon community and produces The Secure Developer Podcast. In her free time, Sam sits on the steering committee for Devoxx UK, a JVM-focused developer conference, and serves as an advisor for OpenUK, the UK organization for the business of Open Technology. Through her involvement with OpenUK, Sam is dedicated to promoting and supporting the growth of the open technology community in the UK and beyond.

Her contributions to the developer community have earned her recognition, including the prestigious CMX 2023 Developer Relations Community Professional and overall Community Professional of the Year Award.

Paz Pisarski, Co-founder of The Community Collective

Paz is passionate about the power of community. She's the Co-Founder of The Community Collective, a community for community builders in the Australian and New Zealand startup space. 

She's managed all different types of communities, from managing Startup Victoria's founder community (Australia's largest startup community with over 60,000 people), growing RMIT Activator's university community from 500 to 5000+ founders over three years, automating onboarding journeys at Happy Spaces in-person co-working space, to supporting asylum seeker women to build their own businesses at not-for-profit SisterWorks. 

She currently lives along the Surf Coast in Australia, where she runs The Community Collective and composes relaxation music as Paz Sounds (her personal music brand) ✨

Leen Sadder, Director of Community at ATÖLYE

Leen Sadder CMX Summit 2023: Shine

Leen is a multidisciplinary designer, strategist, entrepreneur, and community leader with 15+ years of experience designing with and for communities.

She currently leads all things community at ATÖLYE, a community-powered design and innovation consultancy that works with leading organizations to deliver purpose-driven work. In addition to overseeing a global community team and 250+ members, she also runs the Community Lab, an experimental space to explore the edges of community design.
