Arielle hands attendee their t-shirt

We all know the little details of welcoming attendees and making them feel special binds community together. A friendly face, an answer to a question, and just knowing you can ask a conference representative changes the experience of an event.

At CMX Summit, we couldn’t make this happen without our volunteers! We’d love you to be part of our volunteer team. CMX Summit is September 5-6, 2019 in Redwood City, CA.

What volunteers get:

— A free ticket to CMX Summit’s 2-Day conference*
— To spend at least 50% of their time at CMX Summit just enjoying all the conference has.**
— A special volunteer t-shirt.
— An invite to our exclusive Pro Connects Party on Thursday evening.

*Workshop volunteers will, obviously, get to join us for the pre-conference workshop day. They will still get a 2-day conference as part of their volunteering perk.
** There are a couple volunteer roles that require volunteers to work most all the conference.

Unfortunately, all volunteers do need to book and cover their own travel and lodgings for the conference.

What different volunteer roles does CMX Summit have?

General volunteer — You may do things like registration check-in, room facilitation, greeting folks as they arrive, and more.

General volunteer and assisting with setup and/or clean up — In addition to all the above, you will help to setup or clean-up. If you can help with setup, you will need to be available early in the morning on Thursday, September 5th.

Social media — You will tweet, post, and generally share the #CMXSummit love. This role will require you to work almost all of Summit. In years past, we’ve had social media folks pair up and then switch at each session who is covering so you don’t get too tired. We also make sure you have front row seats for coverage.

Stage management — Stage management is one of our biggest roles at CMX Summit. This role requires you to work during the whole 2-day show (Sept 5-6). This role is critical to make sure speakers arrive on time, prepare them, convince them to let go of cell phones or badges, and assist the a/v team and emcee on making calls about the show, such as go time. We have three stages at CMX Summit this year.

Workshop volunteer — This role is the most versatile one. You will help with registration, room facilitating, greeting, setup/cleanup, and stage management (of two speakers). You also must have at least 5 years of community management experience as these volunteers may need to help facilitate the group discusses and help attendees with their learnings and small group work at the workshops. Our workshops will take place Wednesday, September 4.

Okay, how do I apply?

Please fill out the following form by Friday, July 5, 2019 at 5pm PDT.

We will notify everyone either way, and hope to let everyone know approximately 2 weeks after the application period has closed.

Thank you so much, and can’t wait to see you at CMX Summit!
